The City of Dunnellon operates under a council/manager form of government with the board consisting of five City Council members, who are elected to staggered two year terms.  One of the five Council members is elected as "Mayor."  The City Council members represent all City residents as they are not elected to districts.  The Council members are ultimately responsible for the citizens of Dunnellon.  The Council performs such duties as passing the City's fiscal budget, setting the millage rate, passing the ordinances and resolutions, and appoint a chief administrative officer, known as the "City Manager."  The Council elects one of its members to serve as Vice-Mayor on an annual basis.

The City Manager is responsible to the City Council for the proper administration of all affairs of the City Council.

Meetings, Notices and Request to appear before the City Council

The regular City Council meetings are the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month except for holidays.  The City Council workshop meetings are the Wednesday prior to the Council meeting.  Special meetings and workshops may be called.  Special meetings and workshops will be posted as a public notice.  The public is encouraged to attend the meetings.

If you would like to be placed on the City Council agenda you must contact the City Manager or the City Clerk by calling 352-465-8500.  You must provide the topic of your discussion and any materials you would like distributed to City Council by Monday 3:00 p.m preceding the City Council workshop meeting per Resolution 01-12.
