WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City Council for the City of Dunnellon proclaims a general election to be held on November 3, 2020 for the election of council members for the following seats:

5 W. Jay Dugan, Jr.
WHEREAS, during its’ regular city council meeting on July 13, 2020, the Dunnellon City Council adopted Proclamation #PRO2020-08, calling an election for City Council Seats #1 and #5; and
WHEREAS, on August 5, 2020 during the City Council Workshop, Councilman William P. White announced his intent to resign from Seat #2 in order to run for Seat #1 and on August 6, 2020 submitted his resignation letter to the City Clerk as the filing officer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to amend Proclamation #PRO2020-08 to include Seat #2 in the November 3, 2020 Election.
WHEREAS, any individual interested in seeking election to the City Council must do so by obtaining a qualification package, available on the City website, www.dunnellon.org and at City Hall, 20750 River Drive, Dunnellon, FL 34431. The qualifying period begins at 12:00 noon on August 17, 2020 and ends at 12:00 noon on August 21, 2020.
WHEREAS, Petitions, as well as the proper financial disclosure and campaign forms must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than 12:00 noon on August 21st. The cost for qualifying will be $45.00, plus 1.0% of council’s annual salary equaling $18.00, for a total of $63.00.
WHEREAS, in the event that the election results in a candidate not receiving the most votes cast, the Mayor of the City Council for the City of Dunnellon proclaims a runoff election to be held on January 19, 2021.
Be it hereby proclaimed that an election will take place on November 3, 2020 and qualifying packages are available on the City website, www.dunnellon.org and at City Hall, 20750 River Drive, Dunnellon, FL 34431.
