Vice-Mayor Hanchar was elected and sworn into office on December 22, 2018 to seat number 4 and appointed Vice-Mayor. She serves as the City Council Liaison to the Transportation Planning Organization and as an Alternate Liaison to the Tourist Development Council.
She is a 3rd generation "Dunnellonite" and a graduate from Citrus High School. Vice-Mayor Hanchar began her real estate career in 1991 and co-founded one of the oldest real estate firms in Dunnellon. She is currently a Broker Associate with Bricks and Mortar Real Estate & Development.
She is a former Dunnellon City Councilwoman serving from 1998 to 2002, as Vice-Mayor 2000 until 2002 and from 2016 to current. Vice-Mayor Hanchar has served on various Marion County boards and is a former Junior League of Ocala member and president. She is a lifelong member of the Dunnellon Presbyterian Church where she is an elder.
Vice-Mayor Hanchar and her husband Donald have been married 20 years and have two children. She is a avid equestrian and cherishes the Rainbow River considering herself a "River Rat". She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and traveling when time permits.
Vice-Mayor Hanchar has expressed her goal as a councilmember is to honor those who have served before her and to be a guardian of her hometown, protecting the heritage, river and Dunnellon way of life.
