Rex Lehmann, with his wife Diane, moved to Dunnellon in November of 2021 after visiting the city and buying a house in Vogt Springs.
They relocated from Palmetto Bay (Dade County) after years of watching their pastoral, quiet neighborhood overrun with noise and congestion. This was a result of developer fueled overbuilding and a Village Council who promoted growth at the expense of quality of life.
Rex served with Miami Fire Rescue for 32 years with 24 years of supervisory experience as a Lieutenant. Diane retired from the City of Miami as a Code Enforcement Officer.
Both Rex and Diane have been active in the community. Rex joined Toastmasters International which is an organization devoted to helping people from all walks of life develop their speaking, communication and leadership skills. He served as a District Governor and oversaw organization clubs in the State of Florida.
Diane has volunteered for various community organizations, such as the Charlie Program and school activities. She is also active with stray animal rescues and has taken in multiple animals and found homes for others.
Both Rex and Diane are committed to the lifestyle of Dunnellon and maintaining it. Their children, seven grandchildren and great grandson love living on the river and the experience it brings. They are committed to keeping Dunnellon the quiet, friendly community it is.
